Oh God we seek for a sign from Heaven..
Matthew 12:39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
Matthew 16:3 And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?
Now the Holy Spirit speaks expressly by a way of inspiration and revelation to me, it is an unjust and evil thing to ask for a sign from the LORD GOD, however God in His mercy and grace shall give us signs of times and season that we live in.
Christians are guilty of asking for sign from God, 'Oh Lord God if it is you, show me in a dream, show me in a vision, send a man of God to me to confirm it" may the Lord God have mercy on us.
The wise man King Solomon said: Ecclesiastes 3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.
There is a time and season for everything under the heaven; there is a time to plant and time to harvest, time to be born and a time to die. More so, he said 'the race of life is not to the fastest or smartest of men, neither the battle of life is to the strong to win, nor do people who have mastered a skill or trade bound to receive favor, nor riches and wealth to people who have understanding but TIME & CHANCE happens to all (Ecclesiastes 9:11)
How do we then know our timing and the chance and our season that we have with God so we can get ready and receive from him?
Oh that blessed moment when the Holy Spirit speaks to our heart, He says do not ask God for a sign, an adulterous generation do so, an evil generation do so, I shall give you a sign says the Spirit of the living God, this is beautiful. Lovely when He speaks..
God spoke to king Ahaz through the prophet Isaiah that Ahaz should ask for a sign whether in Heaven or in the earth from God, but King Ahaz said I will not ask, neither will I tempt the LORD (you see it is evil to tempt God by asking for any sign) but God said I will give you a sign, because He is a God of signs and wonders, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, call him Immanuel (Isaiah 7:10-14). You see God gave a sign of the coming Messiah Jesus Christ when a virgin shall conceive him as a son..
Our father Abraham was given a sign of circumcision from God to signify the covenant He had with Him.
Blessed be God who gives us signs in due time.
God also gave Abraham a sign of the Exodus,that his seed shall be a stranger in a land (Egypt) that is not theirs, an shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; And also that nation (Egypt)whom they shall serve will I judge and afterward shall they come out with great substance (Genesis 15:13-14) and when the time came the people of Is real were suffering and afflicted in Egypt and God appeared to Moses in a burning bush to deliver them with his Mighty hand to the promised land.
Prophet Isaiah prophesied of this Isaiah: 19. 20. And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the LORD because of the oppressors, and he shall send them a saviour, and a great one, and he shall deliver them.
You see it was for a sign and a witness of God...
Rebekah wife of Isaac when she got pregnant and started having pain prayed to God, why am I having this trouble, the Lord God gave her a sign "Two nations are in your womb,Two peoples shall be separated from your body; One people shall be stronger than the other, And the older shall serve the younger."(See Genesis 25:22-23)
Ohhh..... Glorious God how that He gives us signs though you are unaware of them.
The Holy Spirit says on a ending note: Be not hypocritical, but discern by the spirit not of flesh the signs of the timing and the season and the chances that you have with God..
I pray that the Lord God grant you understanding in all these things and the grave of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
