The Three Dimension of Man: Spirit, Body and Soul.

1 Thessalonians 5:23
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole SPIRIT and SOUL and BODY be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Man is a spirit, has a soul and lives in a body...
By the revelation of the Holy Spirit I want to explain the three dimension of man to you...

BODY
Genesis 2:7
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Man was created in the very image and likeness of God (see Genesis 1:26) he has characteristics and functions like God. The image part of the human physiology is an image of how the true God looks like.
Now see, man body was formed out of the dust of the ground and his body is what helps him to contact and interact with the physical world (Earth); the body consist of the Smell, Sight, Feel, Hear and Taste sensory organ of (Nose, Eye, Hand, Ear and Mouth) that helps man to interact and contact the physical world.... Among other part of the  body that enables man to interact with his world.
This body was taken from the dust of the ground and it shall return to it at death in burial (See Genesis 3:19) when God wanted to manifest himself on earth He did so in the image of a man in the person of Jesus Christ (see 1 Timothy 3:16) the very image of  what he created man in the beginning of time.
The Gaji Manute that you know or Titilayo that you know in a bodily form, is not the real Manute or Titilayo, the real manute or Titilayo is a spirit that lives in that body that you see now before it returns to the ground. So when our path cross in the other world you will not have the opportunity to know or recognize me because my body has returned to the dust from which it came from, what will be is my spirit.
However, the sad thing for man is what is so real to man is the bodily man and he tends to go after things that gives pleasure to the body and not the spirit.
Fornication, Adultery, Alcohol, etc are all craving and  the desires of the flesh. But the flesh or body doesn't live forever, it ends after a certain years on earth.
It is hard and challenging, but you will have to restrict your flesh and bring it under the control of the Holy spirit.

1Corinthians 6:13.
.......... Now the BODY is not for fornication, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the BODY.

1 Corinthians 6:20
For you are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your BODY,..... and in your SPIRIT, which are God's.

Apostle Paul also admonish us how he also control his body and bring it to subjection of the Holy Spirit

1 Corinthians 9:27
But I keep under my BODY, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

SPIRIT

Proverbs 20:27  [New Living Translation]

'The LORD's light penetrates the human spirit,
exposing every hidden motive.

The Spirit of man is the dimension of part of man that contact God,

John 4:24
"God is a SPIRIT: and they that worship him must worship him in SPIRIT and in truth."

It is that part of man that is capable of knowing God and interacting with God. When man is born he is spiritually dead to God, because Adam sinned and death reigned from Adam unto all (See Romans 5:12 ).
The spirit of man is where death or life reside, God gives eternal life when we accept Christ Jesus in our life and resides by the Holy Ghost in our spirit, while death resides in our spirit when we refuse to accept Christ in us.
You are either spiritually alive or dead to God..
You dont know my spirit and my spirit man is not the same as my body form man...
It is the spirit of man that get born again and becomes a new creation in Christ Jesus see (John 3:3; 2 Corinthians 5:17)

The spirit also has a language of it own that it uses to communicate to spirit

God is a spirit (See John 4:24)

1 Corinthians 14:2
For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

You see that tongues are ways by which our spirit man communicate with God... God gives our spirit man utterances to be able to utter this tongues to communicate with him on a more profound and elaborate way.....
See no man can understand when the Spirit speaks in unknown tongues to God, it is a spiritual language between the spirit of man and Gid father of all spirits..

The spirit of man is what will leave forever 'Eternal Life" in God kingdom and suffers 'Eternal Condemnation" in hell where there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth..


THE SOUL

The soul is the core of our existence, whether its our existence for evil or for good.

The soul is our Will, Intellect, our Emotions and our Mind.....

Leviticus 4:2
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a SOUL SHALL SIN through ignorance against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which ought not to be done, and shall do against any of them:

Deuteronomy 4:29
But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy SOUL.

Our will whether to serve God or not emanates from our soul, Our will/desire to sin or do right is also a product of our soul; our seeking God is our a soulish thing God works with our will of the human soul to will and do what pleases him (Philippians 2:13)

Our emotions of Joy, sorrow, happiness, grief etc also emanates from our soul too..

And the human soul cleaves or stay with the body that becomes dust waiting to be quicken in the last days with the Spirit of man

Psalm 119:25
My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken thou me God's according to thy word.

Our ability to reason, think, judge and make a right decision is also a product of our soul...

Remember that we are created in the image and likeness of God our father, and God has a soul too,

God lives us that He send Jesus to die for our sins, God can also get angry with a man, God can be pleased with a man and all of this are a product of the soul

Judges: 10. 16. And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served the LORD: and HIS SOUL (GOD SOUL) was grieved for the misery of Israel.


You see that the BODY, SPIRIT and SOUL of man is a different dimension of man put together to make up the whole nature of man.
