The Mystery of Power, Wealth & Riches....
Proverbs 8:18 [KJV]
Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.
Ecclesiastes 2:26 [TLB]
God gives wisdom, knowledge, and joy to those who please him. But if a sinner becomes wealthy, God takes the wealth away and gives it to those who please him. This, too, is meaningless—like chasing the wind.
Matthew 5:45 [NKJV]
That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
Often times, I tell some people that possession of wealth and riches are not a justifying or standard of approval of God or man relationship to God. But you know they just look at me like a nut. But it is a mystery that only few tend to understand, and many lack the principles of riches and wealth and they must go through all their lives with all their effort to seek wealth and riches and not attain/possess it.
God wants us to 'But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33); because if you first seek riches and wealth with all your strength you will get it and the kingdom and righteousness of God will not matter to you anymore; "Snap my finger" I am trying to alert you to get something the Holy Ghost is revealing to you.
So for the people that are in God, when I say people who are in God, I mean who are Christians, born again; God requires us to seek first His kingdom and righteousness and he adds other things to us with little effort, so that we will not miss life after death which is for eternity.
But when you take a look at the world society, we see that the Riches, Wealth and power of this world has always been in the hands of people who are not the church people, born again Christians nor mind the things of Christ.
This I say by revelation of God, any man (good or bad, evil or righteous, wise or foolish, educated or uneducated) can have money, and can have a whole lot of it, and that is never a way to measure God approval or blessing upon any person.
Read real close, the opening scripture, Jesus said that 'God makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust (Matthew 5:45); we know Jesus Christ speaks in parables, we (man) as seed and plants; rain and sun is a vital and essential requirement for any seed or plant to prosper, grow, nourish and bring forth fruits and blossom, you see that; now to MAN, whether we be evil or good nor just or unjust, God sends same rain and sun to us alike, because God is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked (Luke 6:35); whether you are evil or good you can prosper, whether you are thankful to God or unthankful to God, you can prosper and have riches and wealth.
For example, that you are unthankful to God are evil does not mean that you will not win an election if you contest for any political position in Nigeria, let us say as a Governor or President. It does not mean that if you buy many plots of land and harvest corn for instance, that it will not grow. It does not mean that if you invent something, the whole world will not accept it. It does not mean if you bid for a contract it will not be awarded to you; It does not mean if you get married you will be barren.
'Snapping my finger, snapping it, get it, you see now" God is good to all and causes sun to rise on good and the bad, and sends rain to the just and the unjust, He is a good God.
It is so extensive and profound and I don't want to dig into it more, let me just scratch the surface so I will not digress from my core purpose of writing this to you. I just want to give you a knowing and understanding that riches and wealth is not dependent on whether you are good or bad.
At times, some people, church people wonder and are highly critical of the ungodly, saying I go to church more than he, I have attended more crusades than he has, I pray more than he does, yet he seems to prosper than I do.
Right from the beginning of time, men and nations who possess many riches and wealth and have the world power are not people of God, nor men and nations wholly given to the things of Christ.
Joseph was a good and righteous man, he was sold to slavery in Egypt by his brothers, "..., that the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the LORD was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field (Genesis 39:5)
Jacob also had a similar story, Laban was an idol worshiper and he said to Jacob when he wanted to leave that; he had learned by divination that the LORD has blessed him for Jacob's sake (Genesis 30:27 GNT)
You see that, Egypt that God is fixing to punish had the LORD's blessing, and Laban an idol worshiper learnt by divination of gods, 'by consultation of his gods' that the LORD had blessed him for Jacob sake.
Tyre and Sidon of those days were wise people who have plenty of gold and silver as dust and dirt (see Zechariah 9:3), and God was vexed with them and passed judgment that Tyre and Sidon be cast out and devoured with fire (see Zechariah 9:4)
The Pharaohs of Egypt, Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon were rulers of the then world power kingdom and they were not God people (people of Israel); to the Roman empire, Midianites, Philistines: those were not the people of God and yet, were at various times interchanged world powers and unrivalled civilizations of the world.
When Abraham and Lot and their herdmen were having crisis, Abraham told Lots and his herdsmen to choose another land and depart from him, so Lot beheld Sodom and Gomorrah and saw it is a place that have appearance of prosperity, he chose it and left Abraham with the other place that had famine, not knowing that God's wrath was on the nation, because the men of Sodom and Gomorrah were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly (Genesis 13:13), but they had great riches and wealth; and God would later destroy it with stones of fire (see Genesis 13:6-13)....
'And the LORD said, because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievious (Geesis 18:20)
The then land of Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and the Jebusites, the promised land to the people of Israel were lands flowing with milk and honey (see Exodus3:17)
The people of this land burnt their children to sacrifice to carved images, they were homosexuals, bestials and committers of incest, and many other unspeakable abominations (see Leviticus chapter 18)
'For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled (see Leviticus 18:27)
Yet while these evil people were there,the land was still flowing with milk and honey and God gave the land to the people of Israel because of their evil works.
Notably, a man or nation can be so evil and wicked yet possess the resources of the world and power at global level.
Go look for yourself and research, Mark Zukerberg CEO of Facebook, is an Atheist (Does not believe that there is a God, talk less of serving Him, yet Mark Zukerberg is the world youngest Billionaire as at now and tops the Forbes world richest, you see that? The list of Forbes wealthiest and richest of the world are dominated by people with strange religions, they are not Christians filled with the Holy Ghost, they are not churchgoers and yet they dominate the world Economy, Political, Entertainment, Technology sectors among many others.
From the Wright brothers who invented and flew the first aircraft, Thomas Edison who invented the bulb, to the men that invented camera, phones, fax machine, computers, electricity, internet, cars; these were not spiritual people in Christianity, neither were they people of the church; they were just men who had given themselves to certain principles of success and made a name for themselves.
Moreover, Christians, children of the most high God whom the wisdom of God dwell in have a certain kind of orientation that to have money can be temptation and sin lies along having riches and wealth as a believer, that is a truthful lie.
He is a God of prosperity;

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
You see that God has all the silver and gold of the world, the resources of the world, and God wants us to seek His kingdom and righteousness so that he can prosper us and add all other things to us.
More so, most Christians expect miracle money, unearned money, giving themselves wholly to seed faith, sowing money into pastors' lives and expecting returns and they have failed to step out to compete in the various sectors of the world. Ask Aliko Dangote, Ask Mark Zukerberg, Ask Bill Gates, they will tell you that you will have to step out and earn every dollar not just have the mindset of an unearned or miracle money.
When the first man,Adam and his wife, Eve broke God covenant with them at the beginning of time, God said to Adam, out of your sweat shall you eat till you return to the ground all your life.... You will be totally wrong if you fail to put yourself to work and priclnciple of success and wealth and pray day and night expecting miracle money or an Angel of God to bring you money.
King Solomon, the richest, wealthiest and wisest man ever was a great businessman in his days, he was a big time importer and exporter, read the story yourself, never was a time he said an Angel walked in my room and brought money.
However, God is faithful and He waits on us Christians to give us power to make wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18) and that power that God gives his people in Christ Jesus to make wealth and riches is manifested in forms of great ideas of business and technology, innovations and invention, knowledge and discovery in medicine that will transform into abundant riches and wealth to push the gospel to the end of the world.
Also the Psalmist King David also instruct us prophetically on the path that a righteous man should follow so as to prosper, and it is important to know that we as Christians are to function and operate by the principles of the Kingdom of God in order to prosper.
PSALM 1:1
1. Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
If only Christians would believe and step out in faith, you will see the glory of God.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy spirit be with you now and forevermore. Amen
