What Faith is:Dimension of Faith Part 2.

Dimension of faith part 2

'There are diversities of gifts, but the same spirit."

'To another faith by the same spirit....,
1 Corinthians 12:4,9

The third dimension of faith is the 'Gift of faith or Faith of Jesus Christ' . Every believer has faith; the Bible says so: For God has dealt to every man the measure of faith' (Romans 12:3). There is a difference between the measure of faith (Saving Faith); the general faith or Christian faith which can be increased by continuously meditating and feeding upon the word of God (The Bible); and the gift of faith.
What then is the gift of faith? It is a special faith that supernaturally achieves what is impossible through human instrument.
Kenneth Hagin said the "Gift of faith" identified in the twelfth chapter of 1Corinthians is a gift of the Holy Spirit given to the believer that he might receive miracles.
Every born again christian or every redeemed person in the world has saving faith, but not every christian has and functions with the gift of faith.

Every born again christian has this kind of faith (Salvation faith), I have faith for salvation because I am a born again, if you are reading this and you are a born again Christian: you have saving faith, the thief on the cross next to Jesus Christ had saving faith (see Luke 23:34-43), the harlot Rahab  had saving faith, because she believed the gospel of Joshua by the spy and she was not destroyed with her people; Every christian who is full of the Scriptures or word of God as a result of continuous and proactive feeding upon the word of God will have a great level of christian faith.
But the gift of faith is different from other types of faith, and it is given by the Holy Spirit at certain times to receive a miracle from God, not something you possess and turn on at will to manifest anytime.
The gift of faith has to do with the functioning of God in you and through you, but with no human strength involved on your part [Lester Sumrall] And the gift of faith can operate in areas of divine protection and provision and not limited to that.
This gift of faith was manifested for supernatural sustenance in the life of Prophet Elijah during the famine. We see this, for example, in the case of Prophet Elijah when he was fed by the ravens (see 1kings 17:3-6). Prophet Elijah's faith has to be given to him supernaturally because it was beyond ordinary or general faith to believe that raven birds would feed him. But the ravens brought food to him morning and night in time of famine without eating it before delivery to Elijah.
And many other prophets in the bible received miracles from God by the gift of faith.

Lastly, the fourth dimension of faith: 'Faith of Jesus Christ'
The Apostle Paul writes about this:
Galatians 2:20
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the FAITH OF THE SON OF GOD, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Apostle Paul is a perfect example of a person who had and lived by the faith of Jesus Christ.
When Jesus Christ was manifested on earth, he severed all earthly association, he had no  will of his own and he claimed that 'my meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish His work (see John 4:34); Jesus Christ was always on the go preaching the gospel, healing the sick, delivering the captives and careful to do what the father will for him to do. Even when he was to take the cross and be crucified and he was  in an agony, he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground (see luke 22:44), pleading to God if He could let him pass without going through the pain of the cross and going to hell to get the key of death, but he later said: God, nevertheless not my will, but your will be done;
And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt (see Mark 14:36)

To live by the faith of Jesus Christ is to be completely sold out to the things of God, is to count the perfect will of God worthy to walk into irregardless of the perils it holds, dying to all our ambition and human fleshly desire; Apostle Paul said he lived by the faith of Jesus Christ and said in another place 'I die daily (1 Corinthians 15:31)
What is dying day to day?: it means dying to our desires, ambition, dreams, educational and career persuit, dying to what seems to bring us satisfaction and pleasure and going after what God would have you do; to deny yourself of everything, take up your cross, and follow Christ Jesus [Matthew 16:24]

When you read the epistles of Apostle Paul you will see how he sacrificed his all, his desires and ambition to preaching the gospel to the gentiles and was finally beheaded.
Apostle Paul was the reason why the gospel reached people (we) that are not of Israel; he labored greatly, was beaten several times, he was stoned, always traveling and endangered his life in shipwreck thrice, journeyed through the wilderness with hunger and thirst of water, bitten by a snake, in cold and nakedness, in terrible conditions [See 2 Corinthians 11:22-28]; he faced trial, he was a constant prisoner; several mishaps befell him and yet he continued preaching; never for once said 'what kind of life is this', he preached the gospel to the end...
This is a faith of Jesus Christ.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you. Amen
